Communicate with various internal and external customers.<br><br><strong>Schedule</strong>: M-F 7am-3pm (flexible) <br><br><strong>Why work for Clean Harbors?</strong><br><ul><li>Health and Safety is our #1 priority, and we live it 3-6-5!</li><li>Leader in environmental products and services</li><li>Competitive pay and benefits</li><li>Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days</li><li>401K and stock purchase plan</li><li>Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career</li><li>Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement</li><li>Positive and safe work environments </li></ul><br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br><ul><li>Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment that is in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations as well as all applicable company Health & Safety and Compliance protocols.</li><li>Responsible for the supervision of the laboratory team to ensure analysis of samples following prescribed procedures with the ability to solve complex problems.</li><li>Ability to understand, operate, troubleshooting instrumentation and communicate instrumentation issues to the team</li><li>Works on method development when new procedures or instrumentations are needed </li><li>Maintenance of equipment, including outside vendor scheduling per maintenance contract schedules and suggesting solutions to equipment problems and new/replacement laboratory equipment.</li><li>Completes all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion.</li><li>Ensures that all meet or exceed all applicable QA/QC guidelines.</li><li>Responsible for meeting analytical testing schedules for required permits and discharges.</li><li>Responsible for supply management in their area of responsibility.</li><li>Responsible for problem solving when results fall outside of mandated specifications.</li><li>Responsible for proper management of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures.</li><li>Implements, maintains, and provides necessary training in accordance with the Chemical Hygiene Plan and other SOP's.</li><li>Supervises the laboratory staff in all processes.</li><li>Trains members of the laboratory, implements and suggests operational improvement strategies, completes all personnel functions for the laboratory staff, including but not limited to interviewing, and performance evaluations, as applicable.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by manager</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br><strong>What does it take to work at Clean Harbors?</strong><br><ul><li>Bachelor of Science preferred</li><li>3-5 years in a laboratory environment preferred</li><li>1-3 years supervisory experience in a lab environment preferred</li><li>Supervising union employees is a plus!</li><li>Must be able to hold the team accountable, yet encourage and motivate</li><li>Train, track and manage employees</li><li>Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization and be an active listener</li><li>Troubleshoot and maintain equipment, including outside vendors scheduling per maintenance contract schedules and suggesting solutions to equipment problems and new/replacement laboratory equipment</li><li>Must have an analytical and problem-solving mind set</li><li>Solid understanding of math, chemistry and testing</li><li>Working knowledge of the laboratory environment</li><li>Proficiency in Windows based applications</li></ul><br><strong>Clean Harbors is an equal opportunity employer.</strong><br><br><strong>Clean Harbors</strong> is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities in employment, its services, programs, and activities.
