{"tool":"get_job","result":{"requisitionId":"165340_EastChicago","client":"Clean Harbors","title":"Lab Chemist II","description":"Responsible for the analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.<br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br><ul><li>Performs analysis of samples following prescribed procedures, with the ability to solve minor problems.</li><li>Calibrates and utilizes instrumentation.</li><li>Maintenance of equipment, suggests solutions to problems.</li><li>Completes all paperwork associated with the analyses in a neat and timely fashion (ex., calibration logs, run logs, etc.).</li><li>Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines.</li><li>Responsible for supply management in their area of responsibility.</li><li>Responsible for proper management of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment that is in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations as well as all applicable company Health and Safety and Compliance protocols.</li><li>Works under minimal supervision of more senior members of the laboratory.</li><li>Trains less senior members of the laboratory.</li><li>Performs training and other aspects of Chemical Hygiene Plan as directed by Lab Manager or Supervisor.</li><li>Reviews all applicable laboratory SOPs, annually, and scores a satisfactory score on SOP quizzes.</li><li>Responsibility for supply management in their area of responsibility, including proper housekeeping and best management practices.</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br><ul><li>High School + specialized training or 1 year college required.</li><li>3 to 5 years' experience. </li><li>Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.</li><li>24 or 40 hour OSHA training and annual updates required.</li><li>DOT Training required.</li><li>Good organizational skills, decisiveness and initiative.</li><li>Problem solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work in a team environment.</li><li>Solid understanding of math, chemistry and chemical testing.</li><li>Computer skills.</li><li>Experience in a laboratory setting.</li></ul><br><strong>Join our safety focused team today! </strong>To learn more about our company, and to apply online for this exciting opportunity, visit us at careers.cleanharbors.com<br><br><strong>Safety-Kleen Systems,</strong> a Clean Harbors company, has a commitment to excellence deeply rooted in a strong sense of tradition.
