{"tool":"get_job","result":{"requisitionId":"159671_EastChicago","client":"Clean Harbors","title":"Laboratory Technician II","description":"Our <strong>Laboratory Technician II</strong> in <strong>East Chicago, IN</strong> is responsible for the routine analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.<br><br><strong>Shift:</strong> Monday to Friday 2pm-10pm and one weekend per month.<br><br><strong>Why work for Clean Harbors?</strong><br><ul><li>Health and Safety is our #1 priority and we live it 3-6-5</li><li>Competitive pay and benefits</li><li>Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days</li><li>Group 401K program with company matching component</li><li>Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career</li><li>Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement</li><li>Positive and safe work environments</li></ul><br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br><ul><li>Perform preparations and analysis to produce data (results, calibrations, QC) on inbounds, in-process and outbound analysis on routine samples.</li><li>Perform tank analyses to verify product specification.</li><li>Ensure that all work meets applicable QC/QA guidelines</li><li>Identify data anomalies and determine when follow up is necessary</li><li>Understand and follow procedures (IE analytical, safety, and quality)</li><li>Basic troubleshooting of the instrumentation</li><li>Preventative maintenance in the instrumentation assigned</li><li>Housekeeping, inventory, and waste disposal</li><li>Basic statistical data calculations and input</li><li>Work with others to complete analytical sequences.</li><li>Other duties assigned</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree Science required (Chemistry or Physical/Life Sciences preferred)</li><li>1 to 3 years' experience in a related field preferred</li><li>Experience with Inbound Receipt analysis using GC for PCB and Chlorine a plus!</li><li>In-Process and Final Product analyses experience using ICP for Metals, Viscometer, Pour Point, Particle Count, and/or NOACK is preferred</li><li>Excellent Written Communication Skills- Written and verbal</li><li>Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment</li><li>Knowledge of Statistical Process Control</li><li>Follow Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures</li><li>Lift up to 50lbs, climb, stoop and stand for long periods of time</li><li>Must be able to work -Monday to Friday 8am-4pm and every 4th Saturday and Sunday (you will be given off the Friday before and the Monday after on these weekends</li></ul><br><strong>Safety-Kleen Systems,</strong> a Clean Harbors company, has a commitment to excellence deeply rooted in a strong sense of tradition.
